Membership on the Pastoral Council and its commissions is determined through a prayerful selection and orientation process. In this process, parish members are invited to submit names of either themselves or others whom they feel would best serve the needs of the parish family as members of the council. The council appoints a nomination and selection committee to ensure that the nominees are both eligible and willing to serve. The selection process is completed on Pentecost Sunday, when new members are selected by the drawing of lots from the names submitted. Members of the Pastoral Council and its commissions, as well as leaders of parish ministries and concerns, must be active members of the parish family. They must be people who practice and witness our Catholic Christian faith.
