The Worship Commission’s mandate is to envision and enable the prayer life of the parish family. To ensure a strong prayer life for the parish, the Commission considers the most fruitful ways to celebrate the seasons of the liturgical year; the prayer needs of the community during each of those seasons; the recruitment, education, and updating of liturgical ministries and ministers; and the temporal and aesthetic needs of worship. With the aid of a staff member with a background in liturgical study, the Commission also supports the prayer life of the diverse groups and ministries within the parish family. Included under the umbrella of the Worship Commission are lectors, ministers of the Eucharist, altar servers, music ministers, sacristans, ministers of the environment, ministers of hospitality/greeters, and ushers.
