He loved his family more than anything and was a very kind, caring, generous and compassionate man. He also loved to do for others. He loved history, and the outdoors, and reveled in combining the two by sharing Michigan’s historic landmarks, forts and the beauty of nature through hiking to waterfalls, visiting the upper areas and peninsula, and enjoying the natural Canadian landscape. His love for animals was very prominent in his life, and he was well known in his neighborhood as the man with the bag of dog treats for every dog he met, either passing by the house or out on his walks. Halloween was also a special time for him as he delighted in seeing all the kids and handing out the biggest Hershey bars in the neighborhood.
