Frank John Watkins, age 76, of Plymouth, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 24, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Wilfred Watkins and Joan Marie Fabian, Frank lived a life full of simple joys, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and country.

Beloved husband of Patricia for 46 wonderful years, Frank was the proud father of Todd (Naomi) Watkins and Trisha Watkins. He eagerly anticipated the arrival of his first grandchild, Todd Jr., due in February 2025. Frank was preceded in death by his siblings Robert (Sherry) Watkins, Wilfred "Buddy" Watkins, and Ruby (Hugine) Wilson.

Frank was a true patriot, serving his country with honor in the United States Army, where he earned two Purple Hearts. His bravery and sacrifice defined his character, yet he remained humble and down-to-earth, preferring to focus on his family and the things he loved most.

A man of simple pleasures, Frank cherished good food, relaxation, and the occasional garage sale or thrift store find. Whether haggling for the best deal or tinkering in his garage with his prized '66 Chevelle, he found joy in the everyday moments. He was a lifelong sports fan, faithfully cheering for the Lions, Tigers, and Steelers, even when their seasons tested his patience.

Frank also had a love for engaging with people, dedicating much of his career to the sales industry, where he became a master of his craft. Holidays, especially Christmas, were among his favorite times of year. No matter the circumstances, Frank made sure his home was always festively decorated—a reflection of his stubborn determination and his love for making others smile.

Above all, Frank's heart belonged to his family. He loved them deeply and was their greatest supporter. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the lives he touched.

A visitation to honor Frank’s life will be held on Sunday November 24, 2024, at the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, located at 42600 Ford Road (West of Lilley Road) from 4 p.m. ~ 7 p.m. with a Scripture Service and Military Honors at 7 p.m.

Frank will be lying Instate on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, located at 47650 N Territorial Road (West of Beck Road) until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
