Ronald Leo Green, 83, of Plymouth, Michigan, died peacefully at the Angela Hospice Care Center on December 12, 2024.

Ron was born on May 8, 1941 to Chester and Helen (Valley) Green in Cassopolis, Michigan. After graduating from Romulus High School in 1959, he attended one year of college at Lawrence Institute of Technology.

He went on to enjoy a 39-year career as a performance test driver at Ford Motor Company’s Dearborn Proving Grounds. Ron loved to drive!

Ron married his high school sweetheart, Dolores, on September 8, 1962, and Ron and Dolores enjoyed over 62 years of marriage together until he passed. Ron adored Dolores, and he would do anything for her.

Ron was the ultimate family man and valued time with family and friends above all else, even driving! That said, he loved a good road trip and was always up for driving anyone, anywhere, at any time. When asked where he would like to drive, he would respond, “where wouldn’t I drive?”. He loved his 4 grandkids and treasured the time he spent with them on annual family vacations to the beach.

In their retirement years, Ron and Dolores enjoyed many overseas travel adventures, including a trip to Poland with their OLGC friends as well as multiple European riverboat cruises with their Ford friends.

Ron was incredibly thoughtful, generous, and intuitive, cared deeply for his friends and family, and always made everyone feel welcome and special. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from, he always welcomed you with open arms, a hug, and a kiss.

Ron is survived by his wife of over 62 years Dolores; son Gregory (Jennifer) Green of Medway, MA; son David (Laura) Green of Livonia, MI; daughter Lori (Tim) Sullivan of Plymouth, MI; and four grandchildren Michael Green, Mallory Green, Alex Green, and Holly Green. He is survived by many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He joins his parents and brothers Victor Green and Gordon Green in eternal rest.

The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the countless family and friends who showered Ron with love and support during his life and his courageous Alzheimer’s journey. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Cedarbrook for taking such good care of Ron during his last six months and to the incredibly special staff at the Angela Hospice Care Center for the amazing care, comfort, support and peace that they provided to Ron and his family during the final days of his life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16th between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm with a 7 pm Scripture Service at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 Ann Arbor Rd. W., Plymouth, MI 48170. In state will be on Tuesday, December 17th 10:30 am until the 11 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170.

Entombment will be at Michigan Memorial Park in Brownstown Twp. In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family requests donations in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or Angela Hospice.
